We, Melanie and Neal, are embarking on another adventure that will take us below the equator to South Africa to volunteer for three weeks in October, 2010. Melanie will be volunteering with Vet Nurses in the Wild where she will be learning wildlife conservation and management, and working with a local vet clinic to help those in need of vet services. Neal will be helping school children aged 5-13 years old to develop skills in sports such as soccer, skateboarding and surfing in efforts to provide them with positive activities out of school.
We are looking for donations to help pay for our volunteer fees which together amount to $4650CAN. In order to help raise the money for our volunteer placements we have set up a bottle drive account with the Bottle Depot in Victoria, BC. If you are looking to donate your refundable beverage containers to our cause you can deposit them into our Bottle Depot account: Melanie and Neal Volunteer in South Africa. It is important that if you drop your beverage containers off at the Bottle Depot you must tell them that you are donating to our account before they start counting the containers.
You will be able to follow our adventures on this blog: Mel and Neal Volunteer in South Africa.
The animals and children of South Africa thank you in advance, and we are grateful for your support.
